DR. BASSAM AL-TALHOUNI (Managing Partner)
Dr. Bassam is the founding and managing partner of Midglobe. After having received his Masters of Law in 1991, he earned his Doctorate of Laws in 1997 at the University of Edinburgh in Great Britain.
As a member in the Jordanian Bar Association and Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP), Dr. Bassam has been involved in continuous development within the Jordanian legal sectors by writing a series of weekly publications, newsletters and law updates and conducting seminars and workshops within the Jordanian legal community.
Dr. Bassam served as a lecturer and a Faculty Member at the Jordan University of Law for several years and was also appointed as a supervisor of UNESCO for Copyright Chair at the Faculty of Law University of Jordan.
In 1991, Dr. Bassam’s vision for his law firm is to be a national and international firm focused on providing comprehensive services in the areas of International Trade, Company Law, Commercial Law, Banking and Finance, Contracts, Intellectual Property (including, but not limited to, Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights), Licensing, Foreign Investment, Mergers and Acquisitions, Civil Law, Securities, and Litigation before all courts. Dr. Hussam completed his Masters of Law at Ains Shams University, Egypt, and went on to complete his Doctorate of Laws in International Commercial Arbitration at Edinburgh University, UK.
As one of the founding partners of Midglobe, Dr. Hussam also lectured in a variety of well established universities in Jordan. In addition, he is also the writer of several publications on various legal topics, including arbitration, private international law and commercial matters.
Dr. Hussam is currently the director of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) since May 2003.Under his directorship, DIAC has made its mark in the arbitration world by establishing links with other international institutes, organising major conferences and symposia on the subject and in particular, by issuing a specialist journal, entitled, DIAC Journal-Arbitration in the Middle East. Hussein Madani (Legal Counsel)
Mr. Hussein Madani completed his Bachelor of Law, Faculty of Law from the University of Jordan in 1996. He achieved his Law Profession Practice License in 1998 after working at the Law Office of Advocate Jamil Al-Daradkeh.
Mr. Hussein achieved expertise in the areas of corporate law and intellectual property. He participated in a variety of seminars held under the British Counsel and US Embassy. In particular, Mr. Hussein participated in the Importance of Intellectual Property Protection; a program for training customs authorities in the field of prevention of infringement of the rights of intellectual property; a seminar on rights of intellectual property in the Free Trade Agreement between Jordan and the USA.
Mr. Hussein also participated in a seminar organized by the Chamber of Commerice of Jordan pertaining ot the private stock company in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Salam Sameir Shehadeh Al-Talhouni (Of Counsel)
Mrs. Al-Talhouni achieved her Bachelor Degree of Law, Faculty of Law from the University of Jordan in 1996 and obtained her Law Profession Practice License in 2001.
In 2003, Mrs. Al-Talhouni received her Sharia Practice License in Islamic Law and then went on to complete her Higher Diploma in Law at the Arab Amman University in 2007. Mrs. Al-Talhouni is a Legal Consultant at the National Center for Intellectual Property and also focuses on the firms Intellectual Property matters. She completed a research in the legal protection of trademarks in the new concerned Jordanian Law and also research Al-Khoulo in the Islamic Law.
Her participation in a variety of seminars and workshops has given Mrs. Al-Talhouni valuable experience in the Intellectual property arena. Mrs. Al-Talhouni participated in a program held under titled Importance of Intellectual Property Protection and in a program intended for training customs authorities in the field of prevention of infringement of the rights of intellectual property holders. She also participated in a training system intended for the legal community related to the rights of intellectual property and proximate rights; a seminar on rights of intellectual property in the Free Trade Agreement between Jordan and the USA; and, in a seminar organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Jordan pertaining to the private stock company in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Angela F. Nesheiwat (Director of Legal Services) Mrs. Nesheiwat graduated from University of Bridgeport Law School in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1990. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York in 1987 majoring in Criminal Justice and English.
Mrs. Nesheiwat worked as a Legal Consultant in US corporate legal departments for over 20 years focusing on corporate and contracts law as well as law office management. She has extensive experience in a variety of institutions such as tobacco and satellite industries as well as educational institutions.
Mrs. Nesheiwat will focus her attention on the international sector of the law firm and compliment her responsibilities with Jordanian regulations applied to our international corporate clients.
