U.S. Provides $14 Million for Jordan’s Judicial Sector

American Ambassador David Hale and USAID Mission Director Jay Knott today signed a grant agreement with Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suhair Al-Ali under which the U.S. will provide $13,958,261 to help the Government of Jordan foster its political development efforts and improve the judicial sector. The agreement is part of the overall U.S. assistance package to Jordan for fiscal year 2007, which consists of $255,300,000 in economic assistance and $276,800,000 in security–related assistance.
